The NotubeContest is back, now in a new format.
Go on youtube, find a valueless video and submit it to notubecontest.com
Make sure the video meets the notube's criteria:
1) No reason to make it
2) No reason to publish it
3) No reason to watch it
The NoTube videos should have no value whatsoever!
Then go on notubecontest.com, and watch, like, share, tweet, +1, adn vote the Notube Videos.
But remember, the more you vote the more the video goes down.
Constant Dullaart Constant Dullaart (*1979) studied at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam and lives and works in Amsterdam and Berlin. Originally trained as a video artist, he nowadays works mainly with the Internet as an alternative presentation space. By editing online forms of presentations and by re-contextualising ‘found’ material he creates a new, found (online) exhibition space with networked performances, digital prints, YouTube videos, domain names and blog postings. His work has been shown internationally at venues such as MassMoCA, New Museum, Art in General and the MWNM Gallery in the U.S, the ICA in London, NIMk, de Appel, W139, the Stedelijk Museum, Ellen de Bruijne Projects and Galerie West in the Netherlands.
Geoff Cox Dr. Geoff Cox is currently a Researcher in Digital Aesthetics as part of the Digital Urban Living Research Center, Aarhus University (DK). He is also an occasional artist, and Associate Curator of Online Projects, Arnolfini, Bristol (UK), adjunct faculty, Transart Institute, Berlin/New York (DE/US), Associate Professor (Reader), University of Plymouth (UK), where he is part of KURATOR/Art and Social Technologies Research group. Amongst other things, he is an editor for the DATA Browser book series (published by Autonomedia, New York), and co-edited 'Economising Culture' (2004), 'Engineering Culture' (2005) and 'Creating Insecurity' (2009). He is working on a new book with the tentative title 'Speaking Code'.
Marisa Olson Marisa Olson's work combines performance, video, drawing & installation to address the cultural history of technology, the politics of participation in pop culture & the aesthetics of failure. Her work has recently been presented by the Whitney Museum of American Art, Centre Pompidou-Paris, New Museum of Contemporary Art, 52nd International Biennale di Venezia, National Museum of Contemporary Art (Athens, Greece), Edith Russ-Haus fur Medienkunst, Nederlands Instituut voor Mediakunst/ Montevideo, the British Film Institute, the Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive, the Sundance Film Festival, and elsewhere. While Wired has called her both funny and humorous, the New York Times has called her "anything but stupid". Marisa was born in Germany and lives in New York.THE AMAZING PRIZE
The winner of the NoTube Contest 2011 will be the sole proprietor of iocose's"1-view video" (2011)
a 24 hours long celebration streamed and recorded for the winner only.
She or he will decide what to do with both the streaming and recording. Possible solutions include and are not limited to:
Display in a public environment
Deletion of the record
Sale to an art gallery
Indifference
etc.
IOCOSE only reserves the right to produce a trailer out of the 24 hours of recording.
